Young Two's News...

Dear Parents,

We can’t believe the month of April is over! We had so much fun exploring and learning about the life cycle of a butterfly! What a great experience to observe the caterpillar eat yummy food (milkweed). Then we observed them turn into a cocoon (chrysalis) and sleep for a few weeks. Then we observed them hatch after they turned into a beautiful Monarch butterfly. Finally, we released our butterfly into their natural environment and fly off into the beautiful blue sky!

For the month of May, our theme is “Gardening” with lots of water play! We will be planting a variety of seeds in our own “table garden” outside our classroom. We will be planting wild flowers, honeydew melon, an assortment of squash and chickpeas in a bag. We will be having WATER DAYS EVERY TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY except for the last week of school. Please send your children to school already in their bathing suits with sunscreen applied. Also, please have a change of clothes in their bag to change into after water play. Please send in a towel with your child’s name on it for the month. We will wash them once a week and send them home at the end of the month. Please make sure they are labeled so we can keep track of them.

On Wednesday, May 17th and Thursday, May 18th, we will be having our end of year hotdog cookout with Chef Rosie! On these days we will be having hotdogs, watermelon, veggie straws and lemonade for lunch. If your child does not like what we are having, please send in a lunch for him/her on those days.  On Monday, May 22nd and Tuesday, May 23rd, Ms. Molly and I are providing Pizza and Grapes for our last days of school! Please wear your pajamas to school as we enjoy the last two days of free play and dance parties!

Don’t forget about our fun filled summer camps during June and July! We can’t believe the end of year is fast approaching. We have been very blessed with our class this year and can’t wait to watch them continue to blossom in the 3’s class! We hope to see you all over the summer for our Discovery Camp!

With Love,

Ms. Courtney & Ms. Molly
